In March, Tyler, an executive member of Q-ACS represented the Department of Chemistry as a judge at the 2025 Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington Science Fair (FLASF). The fair brought together over 150 innovative science projects, evaluated by a diverse panel of students and professionals from various scientific disciplines. Tyler found the experience both inspiring and rewarding, particularly in witnessing the passion, creativity, and dedication demonstrated by the participating students. A highlight of the day was presenting the "Best Project in Pure and Applied Chemistry" award—sponsored by the Department of Chemistry—to a deserving young scientist whose work stood out for its excellence.

The Department extends its sincere thanks to the FLASF organizers, as well as to Q-ACS, for their ongoing support of outreach and engagement in STEM education. Initiatives like these play a vital role in fostering the next generation of scientists and innovators.
