Fast-Follower Design of CNS-Penetrant BRD4 Inhibitors and Asymmetric Synthesis of Potent CXCR7 Modulators
Caitlin Miron, PhD and Jeff Albert, PhD
X-Chem Montreal (formerly Intellisyn Pharma) is coming to Queen’s! We are currently hiring talented and motivated synthetic chemists at the BSc, MSc, PhD, and postdoctoral levels. Our research focusses on the discovery and development of novel drugs for central nervous system (CNS) disorders, cancer, infection, and metabolic disorders. In this seminar, we will highlight two such projects: the accelerated design and development of CNS-penetrant BRD4 inhibitors for anticancer applications, and the development and implementation of a practical asymmetric synthesis to enable the advancement of a potent CXCR7 modulator, designed to improve cardiac function and injury repair processes, into in vivo efficacy studies.
