The Department of Chemistry returned to Science Rendezvous Kingston at the Slush Puppie Place on May 11th, 2024.   The event was a huge success, with 5201 visitors interacting with 60 booths and 480 volunteers. The event was popular with over 500 people through the doors in the first 11 minutes and the crowds continue to the end, find out more in the Whig Standard.

  • Large-scale bottle rocket
  • Gummy bear rocket fuel
  • Butane bubbles
  • Large-scale elephant toothpaste with lab-grade reagents
  • H2/ H2 + O2 balloons

How sweet it is! Sahar, Alannah, Aaron, and Stephan blew the crowd away with the “exploding gummy bear” experiment.

This year’s event drew in more than 5,000 spectators, breaking previous attendance records.
