Michael Woolman

Welcome

My name's Michael, and I'm working on my fourth year research project in the Baird lab. I'm half British and half Canadian but I've lived overseas for most of my life and graduated from high school in Malaysia. I am in the last year of my Chemistry degree and plan to get back to Southeast Asia at some point in the relatively near future.

My research involves studying the use of a new catalytic precursor, Pd(h3-1-PhC3H4)(h5-C5H5), in the Heck reaction of styrene and bromobenzene. Mike's homepage gives further details.

Outside of the lab I like to rock climb when I can, and play video games and read books (predominantly sci-fi) when I can't. I also quite enjoy playing most sports, although I don't generally watch them unless I can't avoid it.
