Sogol Borojeni

Welcome

Hi,                                                                           My name is Sogol and I am a PhD candidate in Mike Baird's group. I am from the city of Tehran in Iran, and I got my B.S and M.S degrees in Polymer Engineering, Color Technology and Science from Amirkabir University of Technology (previously called Tehran Polytechnic) where I worked on applications of nanoparticles in polyurethane coatings. I became motivated to continue my education in chemistry by a few years of experience working as a product development engineer at an emulsion polymer manufacturing company in Iran.

My research subject involves an investigation of palladium-catalyzed amination reactions of aryl halides using a catalyst precursor pictured on Mike's group web page. I must mention that working with Mike’s group has been a great inspiration to me.

I like sports in general, and play squash and practice yoga in my spare time. I must not forget to mention that, thanks to Andrew and Kevin, I have learned a whole lot about football and hockey since joining this group.

For any further questions regarding my research, please do not hesitate to email me or see Mike’s home page.
