Training on the AVANCE spectrometers is given on request (email).
It is scheduled for 3 hours. During the
training session, you will learn the basics of the Bruker software on the 300
and automated 400.
The training session is limited 1-3 users. To attend a training
session, you need to register first with
Françoise Sauriol (CHE-108A phone:
(613) 533 - 2260 email: sauriolf@chem.queensu.ca)
- Instrumentation Manager
Before coming to the training session, you must download and read
the
following safety document and sign it.
If you fail following the safety rules, the right to access and run the spectrometer yourself will be removed
All spectrometers share the same software but different hardware (probes, VT unit, MAS probe). When you will need to move to the manual 400 and/or 500 spectrometers you will only have to learn the new hardware (learning probe tuning, variable temperature control ....). This extra training is only 30 minute long and it can be arranged any time.
For the 600, the training is longer (2-3 hours). The prerequisite before you can be trained on the higher field instrument is that you need to be a user of the 400 (manual) and 500 spectrometer and already have experience at tuning the probe. For the 600 training, you are requested to bring 1-2 samples representing the type of experiments you would like to perform and you will learn how to optimize the instrument to run those experiments.
