Petrucci, W.S. Harwood, F.G. Herring and J.D. Madura, Pearson Prentice Hall, NJ, 2007 Tutorials: Tutorial sessions make a valuable contribution to the learning process and attendance is expected. During the tutorial you will have the opportunity to review and ask questions regarding the week’s lecture material. Students will also work in groups to answer a series of questions, assigned by the tutor, intended to reinforce concepts covered in class. Mastering General Chemistry Website: 30% of the total course mark will be allocated to weekly online assignments accessible through the Mastering General Chemistry website. These assignments will have due dates allocated to them and are generally due after one week. Students are responsible for the acquisition of activation codes for the software which was bundled with all new copies of their textbook. These may be purchased on website or at the Queen’s Bookstore. Students should sign up immediately for the APSC131JW10 course on the website, http://www.masteringchemistry.com/ , then click on the textbook image, navigate to the appropriate course and sign in with student ID, e-mail etc. and the course ID which will be given to you in the first lecture. Course ID: MCBARNES09327 Course Title: APSC131JW10 Lecture Material: The purpose of the J section is to allow students to improve their mark for APSC131 by reviewing selected material from 131 and writing a final exam on this material. The final grade assigned from the J section course will supersede the previous assigned mark in APSC131. Marking: 30% allocated to Mastering General Chemistry assignments 70% Final Exam (multiple choice and short answer format)
