The BIG picture: Kingston is located along the south-eastern coast of Ontario (one of Canada's 13 provinces and territories).


 

HOW TO GET TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AT QUEEN’S

 Travel to Kingston

 By Air:  Air Canada (link to http://www.aircanada.com) flies directly to Kingston via Toronto but there are only 5 or 6 flights per day (fewer on Saturdays) and these fill up quickly, so book early. 

By Ground from Toronto: Coach Canada (link to http://www.coachcanada.com/coachcanada/) operates bus connections between Toronto “Pearson” airport and Kingston and also from Toronto downtown (Bay/Dundas bus terminal) to Kingston.  The train, operated by Via Rail (link to http://www.viarail.ca/), leaves from downtown Toronto (8 departures on weekdays, 5 daily on Saturday/Sunday) and not from the airport. 

By Ground from Montreal:  Via Rail (link to http://www.viarail.ca/) operates a train service from Montréal “Trudeau” airport (5 departures on weekdays, 4 daily on Saturday/Sunday) and from downtown.

By Ground from Ottawa:  There is no direct service to Kingston by ground or air from Ottawa airport except by rental car (2 h exactly from either airport to Kingston).  Greyhound (link to http://www.greyhound.ca/) offers a bus service from downtown Ottawa, operated by Voyageur Coach Lines, which runs 3 times daily (only twice on Saturdays).  Via Rail (link to http://www.viarail.ca/) operates a train service from Fallowfield station 10 minutes by cab from the airport (5 departures on weekdays, 4 daily on Saturday/Sunday).

By Ground from yracuse, NY:  There is no direct service to Kingston by ground or air from  Syracuse airport except by rental car (2 h exactly from either airport to Kingston).  Greyhound (link to http://www.greyhound.ca/) offers a bus service from downtown Ottawa, operated by Voyageur Coach Lines, which runs 3 times daily (only twice on Saturdays).

Upon Arrival in Kingston

        Travel from Kingston airport to Queen’s University or to hotels is available by taxi.  Travel from Kingston train station to Queen’s University or to hotels is available by taxi and by Kingston Transit (link to http://www.cityofkingston.ca/residents/transportation/transit/schedule.asp) city buses (route 12 or 22 on Sundays).  Travel from Kingston bus terminal to Queen’s University or to hotels is available by taxi and by Kingston Transit (link to http://www.cityofkingston.ca/residents/transportation/transit/schedule.asp) city buses (routes 2 and 6 but not on Sundays).
