Alumni

The Department of Chemistry is an active partner with the Faculty of Arts and Science in building strong relationships with alumni. As benefactors, our alumni have played a pivotal role in our graduates' ability to meet the needs of a global market through support of educational programs, cutting-edge research, professorships and chairs, equipment, student initiatives, and our new, award-winning building.

Housed at 140 Stuart Street at Queen's University, Development and Advancement Officers for the Faculty of Arts and Science work in consultation with the Head of Chemistry, Dr. Robert Lemieux, and his team to develop plans of goals and strategies to maximize financial support for the Department's teaching and research functions.

The Advancement Team develops programs, which utilize alumni and other contacts in the private and public sectors to provide services and facilities for the Faculty of Arts and Science and its students, e.g., special lecture series, study abroad bursaries, and state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. They also recruit and train volunteers for the Department of Chemistry for the purposes of organizing, implementing and promoting special events, which encourage support and participation from members of the University and broader community.
