A wide array of computing facilities is found in the Chemistry department. For the use of our undergraduate students, we have a 24 P4 computer cluster. Here, students can check their e-mail and lecture notes, write reports (all the computers run Microsoft Office and various chemistry software) or run computations using Gaussian03. For internal research, the theory groups in the department have two Linux based PC clusters and more than a dozen IBM RS/6000 and SGI servers. Research groups also have access to the Queen's High-Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL), which is a massively parallel supercomputer.Chemistry Cluster Hours Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Technical Contact Ed Maracle 533-6000 Ext.78107 Room Booking Jen Powell 533-6000 Ext. 77378 |
