SYNTHETICUM

(BOS 2004)

June 27 - July 1,
2004

BOS2004 will take place in Riga at the
Riga Congress Center (Kr.Valdemara 5).

Please email baderadm@chem.queensu.ca  with any questions.

Balticum Organicum Syntheticum 2004 constitutes the 3rd Biannual  international conference on organic synthesis which had its inauguration in Vilnius, Lithuania.

  • The program and format of BOS 04 will follow that established in previous conferences: Plenary and Invited lectures by a distinguished roster of Baltic and international speakers, poster sessions,  and a round table panel in a congenial atmosphere for open discussion.
  • The program is aimed especially to present a fair mix of academic and industrial speakers and fundamental and practical aspects of organic synthesis.
  • Maximum interaction between Western and Baltic researchers will be promoted.
  • All talks and poster sessions will take place in the centrally located Riga Conference Center.
  • Participation will be limited to 250 scientists.
  • English will be the official language.

Our Goals remain:

  • Provide a window for Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian science to the West;
  • Create a forum for interaction and discussion between Baltic and Western scientists with potential for future cooperation;
  • Present a unique cultural, linguistic and social experience for participants and accompanying persons.

"At BOS 2000, it was our good fortunate to host Ryoji Noyori and Albert Eschenmoser; in 2002, we were lucky to have Barry Sharpless as Plenary.  For BOS 2004, our aims are equally high." (Victor Snieckus, one of the organizers).
